Hot Mint Sauce

  • 1 pint of vinegar
  • 4 ounces of white sugar
  • 1 gill of cold water
  • 3 tablespoonfuls of chopped mint

Put the vinegar into a sauce-pan with the white sugar, and reduce by rapid boiling to half a pint, stirring to prevent burning; add the cold water, and boil for five minutes; then add the chopped mint, and serve with lamb.
