English Salad Sauce


  • yolk of 1 hard boiled egg
  • 1 saltspoonful of salt
  • 1 teaspoonful of dry mustard
  • 1 mashed mealy potato
  • 2 dessertspoonfuls of cream
  • 2 dessertspoonfuls of oil
  • 1 tablespoonful of vinegar


Break the yolk with a silver fork, add to it the salt, dry mustard, potato, cream and oil, and vinegar; mix until smooth and firm.
