Pork Cake

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound salt pork, chopped very fine
  • 1/2 cup warm water, mix with the pork
  • 1 heaping cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup of molasses
  • spice to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups raisins
  • 2 cups of currants
  • 1/4 pound citron
  • 2 eggs
  • flour to make a batter stiffer than ordinary cake
  • 2 teaspoons yeast powder

Instructions

Bake in buttered tins.
