Apple Pan-dowdy

Ingredients

  • 5 apples
  • 1 cup sugar
  • pastry

Instructions

Pare, core and slice the apples, and put in a pudding-dish, with a little water, and the sugar. Cover with pastry, and bake slowly, breaking the cover into the apples at last.
