• 1 pound of brown sugar
• 3/4 pound butter

• 1/2 pint sour milk
• 1 level teaspoon soda
• 2 teaspoons of allspice
• 2 teaspoons of cloves
• 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon mace
