Vanilla Sauce, Norwegian

Ingredients

  • 3 pints of fresh milk
  • 4 ounces of sugar
  • yolks of 5 eggs
  • vanilla

Instructions

Put the milk in a kettle over the fire and let come to a boil (but do not let it boil). The sugar, yolks, beaten together about ten or fifteen minutes. Add this to the hot milk, flavor with vanilla. Get cool. To be served with fruit gelatine or sliced oranges.
