Caper Sauce


  • 2 tablespoonfuls of butter
  • 1 tablespoonful of flour
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 heaping tablespoonful of capers


Put the butter into a saucepan; when melted, add the flour; cook for a few minutes, but not brown; then add one cupful of water in which the mutton was boiled; season with salt and pepper, strain, and add the capers.
