Bread Stuffing

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoonful of chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoonful of butter
  • 1 cupful or more of stale bread
  • 1 tablespoonful of chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoonful of chopped suet
  • 1 tablespoonful of chopped celery
  • 1/4 teaspoonful of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoonful of pepper
  • dash of powdered thyme (if liked)
  • 1 egg

Instructions

Fry the onion in the butter. Add the stale bread, which has been soaked in hot water, then pressed dry. Add the parsley, suet, celery, salt, pepper, and thyme (if liked). When it is well mixed, remove from the fire and add the egg.
