Corn Bread
Ingredients
- 1/2 pound of corn meal
- 1/2 pound of flour
- 1 scant teaspoonful of salt
- 1 tablespoonful of wheat baking powder
- 1 ounce of powdered sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 ounce of butter
- nearly 1 pint of milk
Instructions
Sift corn meal and flour, add salt and wheat baking powder. Beat together the powdered sugar, eggs, and butter; add these to the flour; then gradually add the milk, to make a thin batter, and bake in a hot oven.
