Clam Toast

Ingredients

  • 24 small clams
  • yolks of 2 eggs
  • cayenne
  • 1 gill of warmed milk
  • 1/2 teaspoonful of flour
  • buttered toast

Instructions

Chop up the clams into fine pieces; simmer for thirty minutes in hot water enough to cover them. Beat up the yolks; add a little cayenne and the warmed milk; dissolve the flour in a little cold milk; simmer all together; pour over buttered toast, and serve.
