Jewish Chrimsel

Ingredients

  • 1/2 loaf of bread
  • milk
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of raisins
  • 1/2 cup of pounded nuts
  • grated peel of a lemon
  • a pinch of cinnamon
  • 4 eggs

Instructions

Soak bread in milk; add sugar, raisins, nuts, lemon peel and cinnamon. Then mix with the yolks of the eggs and the whites beaten stiff.

Fry by the tablespoonful in hot fat until brown. Serve hot with wine sauce.
