German Cherry Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 quart of cherries
  • grated lemon peel
  • cinnamon
  • 1 bottle of red wine
  • 2 bottles of water

Instructions

Boil cherries until soft; sweeten to taste. Add some grated lemon peel, some cinnamon, the red wine and water. Serve ice-cold with macaroons.
