English Tea Cakes

Ingredients

  • 1/4 pound of butter
  • 1/4 pound of sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoonful of cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoonful of mace
  • 6 ounces of sifted flour
  • a pinch of salt
  • milk

Instructions

Beat butter with sugar to a cream. Add egg, cinnamon and mace. Mix with sifted flour, a pinch of salt and milk enough to make a stiff dough.

Roll out very thin. Cut into round cakes and bake in a quick oven until done.
