Bavarian Sauerkraut


  • 2 pounds of fresh pork
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 2 bay-leaves
  • a few cloves
  • 1 quart of sauerkraut
  • 1 cup of wine
  • 1 tablespoonful of brown sugar


Cook pork; season with salt and pepper; add bay-leaves and cloves.

When half done, add sauerkraut and let cook one hour.

Add wine and brown sugar. Let all cook until tender.

Serve with potato dumplings.
